We are not like any ordinary shop. We are a warehouse shop that invites our customers to freely browse the shelves with or without the help of our staff. To help make your visit as successful as possible we have listed a couple of simple steps that outline the usual shopping experience.
You may prefer to engage a curtain maker to come and visit your home to take measurements before you come and select your fabric. However if you are using our bespoke making services or are making your own curtains it is beneficial to take preliminary measurements before you visit so that our friendly staff can help to calculate exactly how much fabric you may need.
Come into our Macclesfield warehouse to browse the thousands of fabrics and accessories we have in stock. It always helps if you can bring inspirational materials to aid your search such as wall covering, carpet colours, clippings from magazines, cushions from your sofa, or even tiles.
Our staff are always happy to pull out any rolls of fabric and hang them side-by-side so that you have a direct comparison. Even if there is only one fabric you like we still recommend you see it hanging up to visualise more accurately what the finished may look like.
The photos below illustrate a customer’s selection of fabrics for their newly renovated lounge. We hung up their favourites to check they matched their carpet sample.
It is impossible to choose your fabrics with out seeing the full piece.
Once you have selected your chosen fabric we will discuss your project in more detail to accurately provide any advice and calculate the amount of fabric required. We will then either cut your fabric for you to take away or if you prefer, discuss and organise curtain making using our bespoke making services.

We are closed during the Easter and Christmas period, if you would like to visit during these periods please contact us in advance to find out our seasonal opening.
A Shufflebotham and Son has an onsite carpark. If you arrive and the carpark is full please use the carpark directly over the road at 1 Gunco Lane.
Cars parked in either carpark are parked at the risk of the owner. A. Shufflebotham and Son will not be held responsible for any damage to any car.
Heading along the Silk Road (A523) towards Stockport
Heading past Macclesfield Football Club on the left,
At the first set of traffic lights turn right onto Byrons Lane,
Take the first left onto Gunco Lane,
Our gate is on the right directly on the sharp left hand bend of the road that becomes Black Road.
Heading along the Silk Road (A523) towards Leek
With Arighi Bianchi on your left turn left at these traffic lights,
Go up the hill on Buxton Road,
Turn right at the junction onto Black Road just before the pelican crossing at the Co-Op,
Bear left at the Y junction and continue straight across at the next junction,
After 100 metres our gate is on the left directly on the sharp right hand bend of the road that becomes Gunco Lane.
A. Shufflebotham and Son is predominately on the ground floor across four warehouses. No steps are required to enter the main sections of the building, however, if you require special wide access there are external doors that can be opened for you to enter each warehouse.
Please do not be put off if you are disabled as we will try our upmost to accommodate your requirements. Our staff are always on-hand to help you if extra assistance is required.
